McLeod Co-op Power Presentation to 4th and 5th graders

4th and 5th grade students were able to participate in a presentation regarding electrical safety and awareness sponsored by McLeod Co-op and Power.  The students learned a great deal about what they should do around power sources.

Senior Trip to New Orleans

Lester Prairie Seniors enjoyed a school trip to New Orleans to experience the greatness the city.  A place that has its very own look.  The students were able to view some wonderful events and shows during their week stay, and those I have spoken with enjoyed the trip a great deal.  The ability for our students to see the end of the great Mississippi River to their ability to take in the wonderful mix of culture and people of a magnificently historic city to our country.  To the credit of students and staff, Ms. Olson reported we received many compliments on how well our group behaved and were very polite. Please check out the great pictures from the trip.  There are many, many more and I have randomly selected some for viewing.  Enjoy!!!

4th/5th Grade Capitol and Science Museum Field Trip-Videos

Here are some videos from our trip on Thursday.

Science Museum of Minnesota/State Capitol Field Trip-Lots of Pictures

Where to begin, students had a wonderful time on the first day of the field trip.  Everyone is extremely tired and sleeping as I write this.  I thought I would share some videos, photo's and experiences from this first day.  Most of the photos are of the group I was with, so if you or your children have other photos or video to share, send it to me and I will gladly put them on the blog.  Students first left the school at 12:30 today and before 2:00 we were at the front steps of the Capitol.  We were given a one-hour tour that was capped off by a visit from Representative Gruenhagen who is from the Glencoe-Silver Lake area and our State Representative.  Following this we were off to the Science Museum where we spent the first day exploring the museum, getting introductions, playing a game, eating and snacking, and completing about 45 minutes of science experiments related to weather, KARE 11 and KSTP 5 were both in attendance and may have caught a glimpse of us on the 10:00 news!!!

Lots of fun and learning took place.  After tonight, we will arise at 6:00 am and get ready for breakfast, go to another science show, and watch the Omnitheater presentation on tornadoes.  Look for more photos and video soon.
