The Kindergarteners of Lester Prairie Elementary School went
on a field trip to the Lester Prairie Fire Station. Firefighters Matt Tonn and Jeff Forcier made
it a special experience for the students.
The students were giving a ride to the fire station in the rescue
truck. While at the fire station they
learned about things they can do at home to prevent fires from happening and
how to safely get out of their home if a fire were to occur. During the visit Mr. Tonn also put on all of
his fire fighting equipment so the children would see what a fire fighter
coming into their home would look like and he reminded them that they should go
toward the fire fighters and not try to hide. The students were then given a
ride back to school where we made fire prevention posters and learned more
about fire safety.
